Cookie policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026 (version 1 of our consent record)
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are used on onlineoceans.com, what they do, how long they last, and how you can give, refuse or change your consent. It should be read alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
This website is operated by Online Oceans Robotics Limited (trading as Online Oceans), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15290665, with its registered office at 7 Bell Yard, London, WC2A 2JR.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies, such as browser local storage, which store information on your device in the same way. In this policy we refer to all of these as cookies.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and UK GDPR, we need your consent before using any cookies that are not strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for.
2. How consent works on this site
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose categories individually. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting. Until you make a choice, no non-essential cookies are set and no analytics or visitor identification scripts load.
Your choice is stored on your device and applies across the whole site. If we add new cookies or change how we use them, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again.
3. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change your mind at any time:
- Select the cookie settings link in the footer of any page to reopen the preferences panel and change or withdraw your consent. Withdrawing takes effect immediately for our use of the affected tools.
- You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Your browser's help pages explain how. Blocking strictly necessary storage may mean we cannot remember your cookie choices.
- Cookies already placed by third parties expire on the schedules below, or can be removed through your browser at any time.
4. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the site to work and to remember the choices you make here. They do not require consent.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| oo_consent | Online Oceans (local storage) | Records the cookie choices you make in our banner and preferences panel | Until you delete it or our cookie use changes |
Analytics (Microsoft Clarity), only with your consent
Clarity helps us understand how visitors use the site through usage patterns, heatmaps and session replays. It shares usage data, including your IP address, with Microsoft. Nothing from this category loads unless you opt in.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity | Stores a Clarity user identifier for this site | Up to 12 months |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Links page views within a single session into one recording | 1 day |
| CLID | Microsoft Clarity (clarity.ms) | Identifies the first time Clarity saw this browser | Up to 12 months |
| ANONCHK | Microsoft (clarity.ms) | Indicates whether MUID is transferred to an advertising identifier (we do not use Clarity for advertising) | 10 minutes |
| MR | Microsoft (clarity.ms) | Indicates whether to refresh MUID | 7 days |
| MUID | Microsoft (microsoft.com domains) | Microsoft identifier used across Microsoft services | Up to 13 months |
| SM | Microsoft (clarity.ms) | Synchronises the MUID across Microsoft domains | Session |
Marketing and visitor identification (Snitcher), only with your consent
Snitcher identifies the organisation a visit comes from so our team can follow up with relevant companies. It shares your IP address and pages visited with Snitcher B.V. Nothing from this category loads unless you opt in.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| snid (and related Snitcher identifiers) | Snitcher B.V. | Recognises a returning browser so repeat visits from the same organisation are linked | Up to 12 months |
Functional, loaded only when you use the contact form
Our contact form is provided by Pipedrive and loads only when you choose to open it. Pipedrive may set cookies that are necessary to deliver and protect the form, for example to prevent spam. Because these are required for a service you have explicitly requested, they do not need prior consent, but we list them here for transparency. See Pipedrive's privacy notice for details.
Cookie names and durations are set by the third-party providers and may change; the details above were last verified on the date at the top of this policy. Where a duration changes materially, we will update this page.
5. More information
For how we handle personal data generally, including international transfers and your rights under UK GDPR, see our privacy policy. If you have any questions about our use of cookies, contact hello@onlineoceans.com.
