Modern Slavery Statement
This statement is made by Online Oceans Robotics Limited (trading as Online Oceans), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15290665), for the financial year ending 30 November 2026.
Online Oceans does not meet the £36 million annual turnover threshold in section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and is not legally required to publish a slavery and human trafficking statement. We publish this statement voluntarily, in line with the Act and the Home Office statutory guidance, because we believe transparency matters regardless of company size.
Our commitment
We have zero tolerance for slavery, servitude, forced labour and human trafficking in any form. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and we expect the same of everyone we work with.
Our business and supply chains
Online Oceans designs, builds and operates Scout, an uncrewed surface vessel for persistent ocean sensing, and delivers ocean data as a service to customers in research, defence and offshore energy. We are a small team based in the United Kingdom.
Our supply chain is short and largely direct. It consists mainly of:
- Marine hardware, electronics and sensor suppliers
- Hull materials and fabrication services
- Satellite and radio communications providers
- Cloud computing and software services
- Professional services such as legal, accounting and insurance
Most of our suppliers are established businesses based in the UK, Europe and North America.
Assessing our risk
Given the size of our business, the nature of our supply chain and where our suppliers operate, we assess our overall exposure to modern slavery as low. We recognise that electronics and raw material supply chains carry inherent risk further upstream, and we take that into account when choosing suppliers.
Our policies and due diligence
To keep slavery and human trafficking out of our business and supply chains, we:
- Comply with all applicable UK employment law, including right to work checks and paying at or above legal minimums
- Buy from established suppliers with a reputable track record wherever possible
- Consider modern slavery risk when selecting new suppliers, and prefer suppliers who publish their own modern slavery statements
- Investigate any concern raised about a supplier and, if it cannot be resolved, end the relationship
As the company grows, we will formalise these practices into written procurement and supplier policies, and introduce staff training on identifying and reporting modern slavery.
Raising a concern
If you have any concern about slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chain, contact us at hello@onlineoceans.com. We will investigate every report.
Review and approval
We will review this statement annually and update it to reflect how our business and supply chains develop.
