The problem with patrols
Illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing happens where no one is watching. A handful of crewed patrol vessels cannot cover a large EEZ continuously, and offending vessels often go dark by switching off their AIS. Satellites help, but their coverage is intermittent. A Scout USV provides continuous on-the-water presence over the areas that matter, at a price that lets you field a fleet rather than a single asset.
Scout Detect for fisheries enforcement
- Dark vessel detection - optical, acoustic and AIS/VHF/RF to surface fishing vessels that have gone dark
- 360° optical camera with real-time video streaming for identification and evidence
- Acoustic arrays and Hydrotwin AI classification of vessels and activity
- Near-real-time alerts into your existing command and control via Tether
EEZ, marine protected areas and beyond
The same platform watches EEZ boundaries and hotspots, holds a persistent guard over a marine protected area, and builds the recorded evidence trail that supports enforcement. Scout operates in sea state 6 and survives sea state 8+, with a self-righting hull and AIS collision avoidance, so it keeps watch through conditions that ground crewed assets. This is fisheries and zone enforcement, alongside wider maritime domain awareness and subsea cable protection. Operate it yourself or take coverage as data-as-a-service.
